Shake It

Every little small thing amazes me. Just watching him do little things like hold a rattle and shake it makes me smile. Looks like it makes him happy too! Watching him grow is going to be so fun. Big things DO come in small packages!

Uncle Jason

Every once in a while Jason gets to work in Chicago for the day. Since we live so close to the city, we get to have him stay with us. Even if it's just for a short visit, Taylan loves to see (and this time, spit up all over) his Uncle Jason!

Tobichuck's Visit

This week we had some visitors from the East Coast. Nick, Pam, Katherine and Mathew took a road trip to visit ball parks for their summer vacation. Chicago was the last stop on the map before they headed back to Beantown. Taylan got to meet some more family!

They visited four baseball parks on their journey. While they were here they went to Wrigley Field and saw the Cubs win and US Cellular where they unfortunately the White Sox lost. Once a year the White Sox have "Elvis Night" and it just so happened to fall on the night they went to the game. Katherine and Mathew had so much fun dressing up in Dave's Halloween Costumes. They didn't make it on the JUMBO TRON but they were stopped by many of Elvis fans to take photos.

There was a little battle over who got to sleep in the BIG chair. I think it all evened out.

It was so much fun to see them and have them in our home.

Is there a Wildcat in the house?

He looks good in purple doesn't he?
Fight, you K-State Wildcats!
For Alma Mater fight-fight-fight!
Glory in the combat for the purple and the white.
Faithful to our colors we will ever be,
Fighting ever fighting for a
Wildcat Victory!
GO STATE!

Playtime

I'm really enjoying my summer with Taylan. Today we pulled out a new play gym. It was so fun watching him kick and stare at the sounds and lights. Every day he grows a little more and it's amazing to watch him figure new things out. I can't believe my boy is already two months old. I have one more month at home with him and I'm looking forward to enjoying every second of it.

2 Months Old

Taylan had his 2 month appt today. He did so good at the doctor's office. I think it hurt mom getting the shots more than it did him! But by the time we left the room, and Dad got a lollipop the tears were gone and things were great. Now Taylan sleeps like a baby!

Wedding Warrior

Two handsome men.

Looks like we have a ladies man on our hands!

Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jason love to show me off!

This weekend we went to Anthony and Heather's
wedding in Geneva, IL. This is Taylan's second wedding
in two weeks. It was fun to dance and eat cake again! Taylan loved being held
by his Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jason all night. Mommy and Daddy got to steal him away for just one dance though!

Giggles Galore

This little giggly grin makes all the tears and sleepless
nights 100% forgettable.

Welcome Home Taylan Ray

Taylan's homecoming. The Berwyn home is no longer just Kristin, Dave, Lola, KC and Willy. There's a new sherif in town!

Welcome to the Family Taylan

We were very lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa Butler at the hospital to welcome their first grandchild. Taylan waited until I was full term at 40 weeks to arrive. We knew Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jason were coming for the weekend but it was an even better surprise to have them there right before he arrived into the world! I know I was happy that they were there with us, and by the looks of the photos, they were just as happy to welcome Taylan into all of our lives! Welcome Taylan. You already have a special place in all of our hearts!

IT'S A BOY!!

June 13th,2008

"It's a boy!" We had our baby boy! Taylan James Ray was born at 10:05pm at Northwestern Prentice Hospital. My water had broke at 4:30am. We arrived at the hospital at 6:00am. I was not having contractions so at 9:30, the doctor's started me on petocin. It was a long long day in the labor and delivery room. At 3:30 I was only dilated to 4cm. The day went on and at 8:00, still only dilated to 4cm. It was looking like a c-section was in my future. At 8:50, I had called the doctor in due to serious pressure and WAH-LA.... I had progressed to 9cm!!!! at 9:30, I started to push and at 10:05, Taylan James was born!

He was and still is so precious. We counted 10 little fingers and 10 little toes, chubby cheeks and pouty little lips. Our hearts will never be the same. Welcome Baby Taylan. I hope we make you as proud as you make us. We love you! Mom and Dad
