Santa Baby
I'm really excited about the Christmas holiday this year. We put a little tree in Taylan's room and play Christmas music for him. Do you think it makes him happy???
Merry Christmas Baby! I love you.

Pilgrims and Indians
At day care, Miss Sabina had a Thanksgiving Feast for all the children and their families. When Dave and I got there, she had the kids in either a Pilgrim or an Indian hat. Taylan was a Pilgrim and his good friend Lili was an Indian. We ate a turkey casserole dish and some corn and some pumpkin muffins. All of which the older kids helped prepare all morning long. I got my first little art work from Taylan. His hand print with feathers to make a turkey. Happy Thanksgiving.
I can do it myself!

5 Months Old
It seems like just 5 short months ago I was at the hospital with our new addition to our family... oh wait... it was 5 months ago. I can not believe how time goes by right under your nose. At 5 months of age, the biggest news we have is that Taylan has 2 teeth popping up through his lower gums. TWO!!! Taylan loves his exersaucer and loves to roll and roll and roll. Tonight I found him in his crib doing the downward dog. I know he does some yoga on Wednesday's at daycare but I don't think they are learning the downward dog at this point. It was so funny to see him up on his toes and hands ... then fall to the side like a falling timber tree! He laughed and got up and did it again. I think we are going to have my hands full when he gets older. Little dare devil is going to keep mamma's heart pounding hard. What a fun month it's been.

Jumpy Jumpy Jumpy!
We (and when I say we... I really mean Dave) got the exersaucer put together for Taylan. HE LOVES IT! he is a very active little man and loves to jump up and down and up and down and up and down. I love watching him play on this thing because he gets the biggest smile and giggles on his face. Every so often he stops, looks up at me and is SO proud of himself and just starts smiling and cooing all over again!

First Halloween
BOO!
At day care, Miss Sabina had a party. This was Taylan's costume during the day. BOO! The party was fun. We had pizza and everyone got to dress up. There was a pumpkin decorating contest as well. We thought we had the contest won but turns out, we came in second place to our good friends Lili and Diego. They painted their pumpkin like Mickey Mouse. It was a great pumpkin but I still think we got jipped. Look at our gorgous pumpkins!!!
For trick-or-treating, Taylan was a bumble bee. The party must have really wore him out because he ended up falling asleep as we were trick-or-treating. Candy must not interest him much. Let's hope he doesn't pick up on his mom and dad's love for candy. The costume was so cute but Taylan didn't really enjoy it much. Who would have thought that it would have been 70 degrees on Halloween night?? But it was worth it to stuff him into this bumble bee costume so I could see my little BAY-BEE on his first Halloween.
This is Taylan's friend Lili. She is our neighbor and our trick-or-treating stroller buddy. Look at Taylan. He's not really into the whole costume and getting candy idea yet. ha ha!
Happy Halloween! You are my favorite BAY-BEE of all times. You can sting my heart any day Mr. Ray! I love you!

My Little Pumpkin
This past weekend Grammy B and I took Taylan to a really fun pumpkin patch. Taylan loves being outside and is always aware of his surroundings. It was a very fun day for all of us. Mostly for Grammy and me because Taylan - well let's face it - really wouldn't know the difference if he was at a cool pumpkin patch or at home playing with his feet. But it was a great day for us to be outside and get some really great photos. There was all kinds of fun there. We found a pumpkin just Taylan's size, there was a place where the kids could see the baby animals - although I don't think Taylan was phased by the baby goat since he is around the two coolest puppies every day. We saw some dancing chickens, a haunted house, pig races, and lots and lots of pumpkins. Next year it will be a lot more fun for Taylan but this was a great start to many yearly traditions.

The Boys
This isn't your daddy's cereal.
Well, we gave it a try. This is actually his third try at cereal. He at least had a little more fun with it. The first time we tried it, he froze like a statue until the cereal gathered enough slobber to run out of his mouth. Last night he had more fun with it. I don't think any got into his belly but we'll get there. Right now, he's happy with his mamma's milk and his own hand.
I'm 4 Months Old!
What a smile! This is what I love coming home to! Four months old and Taylan is so much fun. Dave and I think he will be crawling soon. The minute you put him on his back, he rolls over on his belly, tucks his legs under him, tooshy in the air and tries to push forward. Once he figures out he needs his arms to help him, WATCH OUT! He has found his feet so he loves to grab at his toes. He loves to laugh at himself in the mirror. I'll do anything to see this smile. This morning I was tickling him and he was giggling so loud. Just think what I'll get when he really starts to be ticklish!!! These four months have been so amazing. I can only imagine what the next month holds for us!

4 Month Check Up
Today Taylan had his 4 month check up. 4 month's already?????? Anyway, he is now at 14lbs and 12oz. 24 1/2 inches long. The doctor said we could start him on solid foods any time we are ready. I'm not sure if I'm ready but it will be a treat to watch that go down. Taylan was so happy and such a ham in the doctor's office...until THE SHOTS! Oh my poor little boy. He is all smiles until that mean nurse (who I'm sure is really nice without a needle in her hand) sticks him in the hip and then in the leg. Not sure if it's more painful for me or for the boy. Overall, we had a great visit. Taylan is happy and healthy baby so far in his 4 months of his life.
Say CHEEEESE!
FOUND 'EM!!
Grammy and Grandpa Butler
Thank you Mom. Thank you for all your support and visits to Chicago. I know it's hard to drive three hours every weekend to see us but we love spending so much time with you. It means so much to us. We love you!
Grandpa B has been able to come visit more often and we love it when he comes. Taylan has learned to not cry when Grandpa B holds him and now just gives him the biggest smiles. We love you!
Goin' to Kansas City... Kansas City Here I Come
The last time Taylan was in Kansas City he was only 2 weeks old. Now he's three months and he couldn't wait to see the family again. This time with his eyes open! We stayed with Great Grandma and had so much fun. I'm so glad that Taylan has gotten to spend some time with his Great Grandma. On Saturday night we went over to Aunt Sherry's house for pizza and brownies. Aunt Rylina was there, Cousin Kimmi, Tara and Shawna were all there to hold Taylan. We also got a chance to see our newest cousin Katelyn. It was fun to watch the two of them play on the floor together. Well at this point, it was more just lying there and staring with drool pouring from each oft their mouth. It was a great weekend. I can't wait to go back and play again!
